The third video from “it's complicated…” arrives as a collaboration between China Moses and multimedia artist Prisca "La Furie" Munkeni-Monnier.

After shows, night after night, touring throughout the world, China Moses often finds herself alone. Caught in a constant balancing act between the energy and love received from audiences, and the silence and solitude after creating live musical magic on stage with other musicians. "Facing your thoughts in empty rooms with nobody to call," she says. Written in a moment of that loneliness on her guitar, "Another Night (It's Just)" is a song about solitude, about longing for connection whilst being okay with being alone. A running thread through “it's complicated…”

This track holds you and takes you through the actions "Pour a drink with some ice …diamond cuts ease the pain" and the observations "I hear laughter outside and the sounds of the night … there is calm in this space I see the sunrise" of those repetitive nights.

Produced by Troy Miller (Jamie Cullum, Laura Mvula). An unmistakable drum pattern ushered in by Daru Jones (Jack White, Pete Rock) drives Michael Olatuja's (Angelique Kidjo, Dianne Reeves) ascending baseline that rocks you gently. Layered horns by Theo Croker (Dee Dee Bridgewater, Wyclef) paint the imagery of the rising sunrise. Mike King (Christian McBride, Melissa Aldana) delicately accompanies on piano, with additional touches from Oli Rockberger (Jordan Rakei, Gregory Porter) on keys. Marvin Sewell's (Cassandra Wilson, Cecile McLorin Salvant) guitar soundscapes float through. And then the voices, China and Oli' s combining, embodying that duet with yourself, the knowing that loneliness is not something to fear.

The video, the 2nd collaboration between China Moses and multimedia artist Prisca Munkeni-Monnier, moves through hotel rooms self-filmed by China over one year of touring, honouring her late father Gilbert Moses, a legendary film director, co-founder of the Free Southern Theater and artivist.

An independent artist choosing to document her own vulnerability. A film made from the inside. Not manufactured. Lived.

“it's complicated…” is China Moses' seventh album, independently produced and released on physical formats only. Digital available via Bandcamp. Over 1,200 sales through concerts and online. She has made the deliberate choice of taking the slow route and presenting her album as one would present an art exhibition. Slowly and intentionally around the world.
